Where to get your food and supplies

Local grocery stores

The nearest grocery shop is Fosters Food Fair IGA at the Republix Plaza in West Bay. It is open Monday to Saturday from 7am until 11pm, with holiday hours of 9am to 6pm. Note that like most Cayman businesses, they are closed on Sundays, Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. You will find most of the brands you are familiar with here, along with local Cayman food. They also offer a hot buffet of local foods, if you want something to take home. They sell no alcohol at this location.

Liquor Stores

Big Daddy's at Cayman Falls on West Bay Road is a local store that sells Blackbeard's Rums, and will deliver, free of charge. Call 345-326-WINE for details.

There are many other liquor stores that you will find on your island travels. Most are affiliated with one or other of the rum producers that are common on the island.  Like the grocery stores, these are closed on Sundays.

Farmers' Markets

At the time of writing, there are four Farmer's Markets on the island.

Camana Bay offers a small market, selling mostly fresh fruit and veggies, sometimes organic breads and other products. It is on Wednesdays from noon until 7pm at the corner of Forum Lane and Market Street.

The Grounds, located east of Georgetown in Lower Valley, hold a larger farmers' market on Saturdays, between 7am and noon. Get there early for the best selection!

Reflections Fresh Market on Godfrey Nixon Way in George Town, is held Fridays from 3pm until 6:30pm, and features seasonal fruits and vegetables, along with local dishes and goods.

Sunday GreenMarket is a further drive away, in Bodden Town, in the Plantation Organic Gardens and is Sundays from 2pm until 6pm. Depending on the season, they will offer pick-your-own produce, including pineapple, coffee beans, sugar cane and dragonfruit.

Fresh Fish

A major draw for fish and seafood lovers is purchasing food fresh directly from the fishermen! They will set up near Hammerheads Pub in Downtown George Town, and will fillet the fish for you. You will find snapper, hammerhead, yellowtail, wahoo - whatever they caught that morning.

Sometimes you can also find fresh fish in the local grocery stores.

Delivery Services

As noted above, all grocery and liquor stores are closed on Sundays.  If your arrival day is Sunday, or if you don't want the hassle of going shopping as your first task during your stay, we can put you in touch with a service that many guests of ours have used that, for a flat fee, will shop for groceries and/or alcohol, deliver them to the condo before your arrival, and unpack them, putting items away in cupboards, fridge or freezer, as appropriate.  If you wish to use this service, please let us know at least two weeks before you arrival, so that we can put you in touch with them.
